For one week in 2016 a group of artists convened in the Southern California Desert and collaborated on building a structure made entirely out of found materials, The Sun Fort is what resulted. This project was 50% a beautiful artistic statement and 50% in service to the community of Slab City where it was built. At the end of one week the structure had a kitchen with storage, water spigot, a stove, an earthen oven, a couch, table, bed, and outhouse toilet. The Sun Fort was a collaborative project with Samuel Farrell and many other visiting artists.
